Thanks so much for this collection! I’ve been trying to make my own panties and it’s so hard without something to go off of. Can’t wait to give these a try.

Thank you sooo much for this list! I was just getting started on making new underwear after the loss of maternity weight, and I am so grateful for someone else getting time to search and search for the best of the best in FREE patterns. Thanks!

Panties patterns are widely available as the bottom half of two piece swimsuits. Usually they are patterned out of two pieces, for convenience of the pattern-maker (not your convenience) as a front piece and a back piece. You can tape the two pieces together at the crotch and cut one piece — just be sure that you overlap the pattern pieces you are merging to account for the seam allowance. Then you have two side seams, the waist & leg elastics to sew and you are done.

Has anyone EVER successfully sewed Runo’s boxer pattern (the “How to Make Boxers” link under Men’s boxers)??
I am a moderately experienced sewer but I found the instructions/pattern really difficult to understand and it took me a while to figure it out.
The pattern says it is for a 35″ waist. I made it for a guy with a 32″ waist and they were too small to even put his legs in!
I increased the size to 150% of the original. He could wear this pair but he says that they are too tight, so he never does.
Has anyone else had any success? If not, I’d say take the link down and keep other people from wasting their time and fabric.
