I’ve been getting a lot of emails lately from readers with specific requests for information.
Reading through them, I have decided other folks may also be interested in my responses. With that in mind, I’ve decided to answer a few of the emails through a post.
Here I go…
Question: I don’t understand the RS and WR (Right side and Wrong side part of sewing instructions. Do I just turn the work around?
Answer: The right side of fabric is the side that will be seen when the garment is completed. The wrong side is the side that will sit against your skin. When stitching a garment, the right sides of the fabric generally face each other. I hope that answers your question.
Question: I am looking for patterns to make a coat and jackets. Can you help?
Answer: Check out this link for a free coat pattern, Burda sizes 34-44. Or, this one for a free Hooded Wrap Coat Pattern.
Question: Looking for a Women’s Plus 3X pattern for a cullotte style half slip .
Answer: I haven’t been able to locate exactly what you asked for, but here is a regular collotte pattern for sizes 36-42 with grading guidelines for other sizes. Maybe you can modify it.

I’ve sewn and quilted for many years, but I have a problem. Is there a technique for mitering binding neatly on an inside curve such as in the “cleft” of a heart shape?
