free hat patterns

The links on this page are for sewn hats only. There are fabulous patterns available for knitted and crocheted hats, but I don’t do those crafts so I didn’t list them. If you do knit and crochet, take a look here.

FLEECE HAT SEWING LINKS

Fleece hats are all the rage now, so naturally there are a lot of free patterns on the web. For more fleece hats, also look under hats for kids. For more fleece hat patterns, see Free Fleece Hat Patterns

HEAD SCARF TYING LINKS

A headscarf is the easiest type of hat to make. Just hem a rectangular or triangular piece of fabric and you are finished. Here are some fun ways to wear your new fashion accessory. For more headscarf ideas see How To Tie A Headscarf

DOO-RAG HAT SEWING PATTERNS

Initially popular only among bikers, mainstream women have discovered doo-rags, too.

HATS FOR KIDS

Lots of funky hat for kids.

BERET HAT SEWING PATTERNS

I used to wear berets a lot during the 90’s, but lately they seem to be out of style. I’m keeping my old patterns in case they come back again.

COSTUME HATS

A great hat, can make the whole costume.

BLOCKED HATS

These hats are a bit more advanced than most of the hats listed on this page.

OTHER HAT SEWING PATTERNS

This category is for all the hat styles that don’t seem to fit elsewhere. You will find everything from turbans to felt hats in this section.

SNOOD HAT SEWING LINKS

Snoods are generally worn only by orthodox Jewish women, but lately I have seen other ladies wearing them also.

ONLINE HAT MAKING BOOKS

I am not sure how helpful these books will be, but you will enjoy looking at them.
